NEEDS TO BE LINKED
The Party decided to head to Shallamas, however they had a few detours along the way. Shortly after leaving the glass wasteland of Dessanedi, they came upon a woman named Rodia trying to fix a device. She told them that this device was part of a religious ceramony observed by herself and priests from two other villages. They would come here and use this device to visit their deity who lived on the top of a nearby butte. However, her two fellow priests were nowhere to be found and the device had been destroyed by an animal. She asked the party for help finding the missing pieces of the device and they accepted.
Jared investigated the multitidue of tracks around the device and found three things. First, the animal tracks were large and had three toes, he decided that they belong to either a yolpen or a bellowheart. Second, blood-like drops of some sort of metallic fluid led away from the device. Third, two sets of human footprints walked up to the device and then vanished. The party decided to investigate the metallic drops.
The metallic drops led to a small cave where the party found an automaton which was melting. The automaton was holding a component for Rodia’s device which they took. Crankshaft used an esotery to stop the automaton from melting and then repaired the machine. It started floating and following them around repeating snippets of conversation which it misheard. The party returned to Rodia with the first missing component and she told them that if they could find a valid offering for her deity (something blue) they could come with her.
The party then followed the animal tracks, grabbing a handfull of blue feather on the way. The tracks lead to a small copse of trees where they found a yolpen laying on the ground, writhing in pain. The second missing component was stuck in the creatures foot, so Crankshaft removed it while Jared soothed the creature. Deciding that he wanted the creature to accompany them, Jared asked the creature if it would come with them, even getting Crankshaft to see if he could heal the creature foot. However, this backfired and Crankshaft botched his work, the creature ran off in pain.
The party returned to Rodia and she finished repairing her device. Immediatley, Jared and Edge felt a compulsion to travel to the deity and feed it. Rodia used the device on Jared, sending him to the top of the butte, but before she could send the next person a owlbear like creature came running towards them. Crankshaft and Edge put down the feral creature, but not without Edge getting stuck in its maw. Rodia then sent rest of the party and herself through. However, while Jared was on the butte without rest of the party he was attacked by a man trying to throw him into a pit. Jared killed the man, and then his compulsion drove him to throw the man’s body into the pit, which was full of incubating eggs and another man being slowly eaten alive by them. After throwing the body in and dooming the second man to death, Jared recovered from the compulsion effecting his mind.
Rest of the party arrived and bought Jared’s story that he had found the two bodies like this. Rodia was horrified to discover these creatures, which weren’t her deity but its offspring, contradicting her religion. The party decided to destroy the brood by dropping a large stone floating above it into the pit. While Edge worked on breaking the anti-gravity device within the rock, a few of the creatures hatched and attacked the group. Edge finished dropping the boulder, narrowly missing Jared, while Crankshaft finished off the hatched creatures. With their work done, the party had Rodia send them back to their cart. She thanked them for their help with some cyphers and set off to her village with the bad news about their religion being a sham.
Jared returned to yolpen, finding it in a better mood, and convinced it to join them. Crankshaft started working on encorperating a shelter cypher into the body for his car. The party set off for White Lake so Crankshaft could gather the neccessary tools for his work.
Once in White Lake, Edge went looking for medical attention for his patchwork leg, Jared looked for work at the inn and Crankshaft went to the market for the tools he needed. Edge the leaders of White Lake Hervan and Deil, who deemed his leg unorthodox but capable and then treated the exposed wound for infections. Jared learnt about a nearby abandoned castle that used to be the home of a despot king but had recently be haunted by skeletal figures. Jared and Crankshaft arrived at Hervan and Deil’s home at the same time to tell Edge about their plans.
While Edge and Crankshaft worked on the car, Jared scouted the abandoned Selascor castle. He spotted a group of the “skeletons” and figured that they were actually oorgolian soldiers. The next day the party retured to the castle to investigate further. The engaged the oorgolians but were driven off when the oorgolians used a detonator launcher to collapse part of the building. The party fled to their vehicle, planning to return later after some preperations.
